The President of the Brotherhood of La Verónica de Totana, Águeda Muñoz Tudela has communicated that the Aledo Guerao and López Guerao families, owners in aliquots of half of the current and titular image, in an act of greatness have given it to the Brotherhood.
Muñoz Tudela has reported that 50% of the image of La Verónica was not owned by the Brotherhood that bears her name, a situation that has been common in many cases of totaneras.
The President explained that the previous Board of Directors, led by José Ramón Peñalver, had conversations with the legitimate owners of this image and that after a few months a document has been signed in which the owner families give up all rights. that correspond to him regarding this image, while the Brotherhood exists.
Muñoz Tudela has expressed his great satisfaction for this recent agreement, since he considered the situation that was experienced an anachronism, where the Brotherhood of La Verónica was the owner of different items, as well as a modern and spacious headquarters and yet its titular image, La Verónica, was not yet the full power of the Brotherhood and that with this generous assignment a historical illusion is fulfilled since now they can look as their own at the beautiful carving of the totanero sculptor Antonio Ruiz.
The maximum representative of the brotherhood thanked the donor families, Aledo Guerao and López Guerao, and the previous president of Verónica, José Ramón Peñalver Solano, for all the effort and dedication they have invested to achieve this purpose.
