The Disability Day Centers celebrate this Thursday, February 20, the II Adapted Carnival of Totana, starting at 11:30 am, an event that this year they are organizing with great enthusiasm and gratitude after being awarded the Golden Mask of Carnival 2020.
According to sources from the Department of Social Welfare, all the costumes and accessories of the users have been made in the workshops of the centers, thanks to the work of all professionals and users.
From both centers they want to show their sincere thanks to the Totana Carnival Rock Federation for the love shown to all users, as well as to Musa and Don Carnal for accompanying this educational community on this special day.
This year the activity will be attended by several Day Centers of the region, in this case, the CD Mazarrón, CD Apandis, CD Las Salinas, CD Afemto and the Psychosocial Support Service of Alhama de Murcia;
as well as with the participation and collaboration of several Tierno Galván, Comarcal-Deitania, Reina Sofía and La Cruz educational centers.
The tour will be the same as last year through the streets surrounding the Day Centers and will end in the inner courtyard with performances and delivery of details to the different participating centers.
More than 200 people participated last year in the I Adapted Carnival Parade organized by the Totana Disability Day Centers, the "José Moyá" Center for People with Intellectual Disabilities and the Day Center for People with Mental Illness , with the collaboration of the Peñas del Carnaval Federation of this town.
This activity started from the centers and toured the adjacent streets of the Tirol Camilleri neighborhood, with the participation of La Musa and Don Carnal de Totana of 2019, both adults and children.
