For the year 2005 and within the framework of investments of the AGUA Program (Actions for the Management and Use of Water), the Central Government, through the Ministry of Environment and Commonwealth of Channels of the Taibilla, made an investment, around the 2,300,000 euros, to provide joint supply to the Municipality of Aledo, with the construction of a drive from the Huerta road to a new supply depot located in the upper area of ​​the MONTISOL Urbanization.
That important investment in facilities was never launched and today, 15 years later, it is announced that Aledo has requested to join the Taibilla, preparing this public entity, the facilities to launch the important infrastructure that will serve the neighboring Municipality and whose Investment has been made for years.
In these times, the only utility of this important work has been the provision of water to a part of the Network of Virgen de las Huertas de Totana that came to solve the serious problems suffered by the neighbors of the Huertos and La Charca, until the action carried out by this City Council in the summer of 2015 when it was connected to the Huerta road network, from the inlet pipe to the Aledo Drive.
We consider it a great opportunity to start this work, to request from Mancomunidad de Canales del Taibilla, the provision from that deposit, with an independent exit and counter that supplies the Sanctuary of La Santa, buildings and public services, the Hotel and the private homes of the Strait.
Also the housing area from the Arco de Aledo, to the Camino de los Molejones, completing the service of Agua del Taibilla to the Tejera Zone and Las Alquerías.
It would only be left uncovered by the Taibilla Water, the Santa Leocadia Place or the highlands of Las Alquerías that would continue to supply the Carrasca and Los Frailes Birth.
With this operation, which would mean a minimum investment for Totana, we would achieve several objectives.
Lower the water bill that we now pay to the Aledo City Council, passing to Mancomunidad de Canales del Taibilla whose rate is considerably lower than the current one.
The stability in the water supply is guaranteed in La Santa and an important part of the La Sierra Provincial Council (the most populated), considerably reducing maintenance costs, chlorination and water in the network and other very expensive operations in a highly deficient network since years ago, despite having no cost, per purchase, high.
Start a study for the use of surplus water from municipal births giving public utility to them.
