Totana runs out of Museum of Holy Week (14/02/2020)

THE MUSEUM OF THE HOLY WEEK OF TOTANA DOES NOT GET THE MOST SUFFICIENT (BY VOTE) TO CONTINUE THE PROJECT FOR MUSEALIZATION

In the Ordinary General Assembly held yesterday 02/13/2020, at the headquarters of the luster Superior Cabildo de Processiones de Totana, which was attended by all the representatives of the Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of Totana.

And after making repeated pertinent explanations, about the operation of the future Museum, its maintenance, figures and exhibits, etc.

by those responsible for the project, it was voted whether to continue to carry out the works to be done and finish the project started more than two years ago

The result of the vote was as follows:

10 votes in favor

5 votes against

2 blank votes.

By a vote in favor and consequently one less against, of the 17 presidents of the brotherhoods and brotherhoods of Totana, a qualified majority of two-thirds would have been obtained, which the assembly itself voluntarily imposed to continue with said project.

IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE

Having the financing of the project practically solved through the â‚¬ 24,000'00 of the CAMPODER grant (already granted).

Own funds amounting to â‚¬ 15,000'00.

Conversations held with several local businessmen who would have financially supported the project.

All this without counting the subsidy of the CARM (in case of receiving the Regional Museum Network) of another 15,000'00.- â‚¬.

And finally the Plenary agreement of last December 2019, in which our City Council promised to finish financing the project through a long-term agreement.

A PENALTY FOR TOTANA THAT REMAINS WITHOUT MUSEUM OF THE HOLY WEEK.

Totana, one of its main needs or faults, is that we don't have Museums where we can teach our cultural wealth, our archeology, gastronomy, etc.

This was a unique opportunity for Holy Week in Totana to have its own MUSEUM.

We agree that relatively small, only 150 square meters, but better a small museum than nothing.

All this without counting the impulse that would have been given to Holy Week in Totana in our desire to achieve the National Tourist Interest
