The usual plastic bottles that were distributed among the councilors during the Plenary sessions or in the institutional events in the session hall will no longer be seen from today in the City of Totana, where it has been decided to dispense with these single-use containers as measure to fight against climate change and reduce the consumption of polluting materials.
On the contrary, recyclable glass liter bottles are purchased and customized ceramic cups will be distributed, in addition, as a support measure to the artisanal sector of Totana.
The clay cups are made by the company "Alfar Tudela" and present the name of each of the 21 corporate and a corporate image with the main facade of the totanero Consistory.
The mayor, Juan José Cánovas, explained that "it is a small symbolic gesture, but a first step in the commitment that we acquire in the fight against climate change, in defense of underwater life and terrestrial ecosystems, seriously threatened, trying to meet the Sustainable Development Goals of United Nations by 2030. "
From the City Council of Totana it is believed that it is not only about being aware, but about developing tangible initiatives and contributing our grain of sand taking the measures into practice.
