Writers and fans of Totana's literature last night read numerous writers' texts coinciding with the celebration of the Day against the Elimination of Machista Violence, an initiative promoted by the Department of Culture and Equality and with the invaluable collaboration of the Association Friends of the Poetry of Totana.
The reading, which was livened up with live music by Salvador Escarabajal, was held at the "Mateo García" Municipal Library;
and had the assistance of the Councilor for Women and Equality, Javier Baños.
The attendees reflected on the texts supporting the way in which women, excluded from the field of knowledge and professional development, relegated to the dependence of men, have seen how their feminine universe revolved through love as the only tool for personal fulfillment in their almost exclusive condition of lovers, mothers and caregivers.
The initiative was framed in the program of commemorative activities of the International Day against Gender Violence that Totana, organized by the Department of Women and Equality, at the request of the Municipal Council of Equality of this town.
