The mayor, Juan José Cánovas, has recently met with the president of the Association of Rare D'Genes Diseases, Juan Carrión, and the director of the Multidisciplinary Center Celia Carrión Pérez de Tudela, Miguel Ángel Ruiz, in order to coordinate joint actions of future and address different issues in this area that affect this municipality.
In this regard, those responsible for D´Genes have urged the first mayor that the Consistory totanero collect a budget item in the municipal exercise of 2020 that allows collaborating in the maintenance of the Multidisciplinary Center for Comprehensive Care for People and Families with Rare Diseases of Totana which serves more than 150 users every month.
Another issue that was addressed was the accessibility to the center located on San Cristóbal Street, as well as improving user access to this infrastructure located in the heart of Totana, on a road with high traffic flow.

The City Council agreed to transfer this infrastructure to D´Genes to develop its operation and offer a wide portfolio of services, family respite programs, training actions, especially, prioritizing attention to children from 0 to 6 years old, among other issues.
