Members of the municipal government, including the mayor Juan José Cánovas and the Councilor for Equality and Women Javier Baños, have placed the banner commemorating the International Day against Gender Violence on the main facade held on November 25.
The municipal building will show this banner of support for victims of gender violence, in the same way that during the next two weekend violet lights will be installed that will project the main facade of the Totanero Consistory.
In addition, this year the Department of Equality has decided that the institutional manifesto against Gender Violence, which has traditionally been prepared and signed by political groups in October, is made on this occasion by young students of the Secondary Education institutes of Totana, who will also proceed with its reading in order to give prominence to youth in raising awareness of this sector of the population.
This matter was dealt with, precisely, in the last Municipal Council of Equality where all the political groups and social entities of the municipality of Totana are represented.
More than a dozen social awareness activities contemplate this year the program to commemorate the International Day of the Fight against Gender Violence in the municipality of Totana, which is organized by the City Council in collaboration with women's associations and other entities social and sports, until December 1.
The activities are organized by the Department of Equality, the Center for Specialized Care for Women Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI) and the Municipal Council for Equality in order to raise awareness of the citizenship and condemn the violence that is exercised on women in the actual society.
