The mayor of Totana, Juan José Cánovas, has participated, this morning, in the meeting of mayors of the municipalities of the Guadalentín Region organized by the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Lorca (Ceclor), which the councilors of Lorca, Águilas and Puerto Lumbreras.The first mayor of Totanero has thanked Ceclor for the initiative to promote and coordinate this meeting and, also, the mayors and mayors of Guadalentín who have moved to Lorca to address all those needs and outstanding issues that They join us.

Juan José Cánovas said that this meeting has been "very useful and positive" and is committed to giving it continuity over time in order to make a common front that will allow promoting this context of regionality in Guadalentín.

In this regard, he congratulated Ceclor for "the excellent initiative" of bringing together mayors and mayors because, he said, "we have many issues in common";

and has valued the efforts of the employer "to collaborate in the regional cohesion betting on elements that can unite us in the development of our sustainable economy; which has to agglutinate agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, services and health systems , whose regional future goes through understanding. "

He advocated solving the historical problems of local financing that all municipalities have in common;

and claimed that this issue must be resolved definitively by the Government of Spain, having a greater participation in the State Taxes to "respond to the problems of the neighbors, as a closer administration."

In this sense, the mayors and mayors have asked the governments of national and regional administrations "a joint effort and strengthen the provision of this 30-40 percent of improper powers that have the municipalities and that we have to finance with our own resources and , therefore, forcing us to retract them from other needs and competencies that we are required to provide by law. "

The municipal leaders of Lorca, Puerto Lumbreras, Águilas and totana highlighted the importance of issues such as railway and hydraulic infrastructure and other matters in health and education matters.

As they explained, this has been a meeting to get a common voice to defend strongly against higher administrations such as the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and the Government of Spain, making it appear that they are not individual issues, but that it is an issue that affects the entire region of Guadalentín.
