On Saturday, November 9, Pedro Cánovas and Bartolo Sánchez "Memé" participated in the "Ascent to the Castle of Lorca".
With a distance of 5 km, of which 3 ran through the municipality and the last 2 were prolonged.
Memé finished the test in 19 minutes and 22 seconds in position 18 of the general and 6 in Veteran A;
Pedro entered a few seconds later in the 38th position of the general and 5th in the Senior category with a time of 20 minutes and 43 seconds.
Roque Gázquez traveled to Greece to participate in the legendary Athens Marathon, the test started from the city of Marathon and ended up in the capital city after running 42,195 km up and down hills.
Legend has it that the soldier Philippi had to run tirelessly from Marathon to Athens, within a maximum period of one day to announce the victory of the Greek army over the Persians.
The test began at 9 am and more than 35,000 people from more than 100 countries participated.
Our partner Roque did half of the test at a good pace, if inconvenience, but from kilometer 20 he began to suffer discomfort that forced him to retire at 26, with 16 km to finish.
Also the same day, Gonzalo Álvarez participated in the VIII Half Marathon of "Ciudad de Mojácar".
In the absence of official classifications, to say that our partner made a great test despite the fact that it was especially complicated by the strong gusts of coastal wind that were present during the 21 km of the race.
