The municipal groups that make up the Municipal Corporation of Totana will raise a joint motion to the ordinary plenary session of the month of October in which they require the new Central Executive to comply with 10-N, which are included in the General State Budget and carry out the necessary investments in the channel of the Rambla de Lébor for the channeling of the waters towards the Guadalentín river.
In addition, in the same motion, the Government of Spain is urged to carry out the necessary investments for the construction of the rolling dam in said ravine.
Similarly, it is requested that the necessary procedures be carried out so that the water contributions generated in the rolling mill are destined for the Irrigation Community Transfer Tajo-Segura de Totana, for its management and distribution among the farmers of the municipality taking advantage of the water from the avenues in the crop irrigation.
The Ministry of Ecological Transition is also requested that the project and competence in this matter be once again of the Segura Hydrographic Confederation for its speeding up and guarantee that it is managed by a public entity.
In a recent meeting of the mayor with the president of Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura, it was revealed that the current situation is that this project was entrusted to the company ACUAMED and it was a necessary previous step to return the competition to CHS in order to expedite the formalities.
According to the joint motion, there have been many years that we have been seeing systematically as in the General State Budget (PGE) includes an economic item for the construction of an infrastructure as necessary as the Dam of the Rambla de Lébor, and also systematically We see how this investment is never completed.
In December 2016, after quite heavy rains, the Plenary approved a motion unanimously so that, at that time, the Central Government, would comply with that mandate and allocate the necessary resources for investments in the Rambla de Lébor channel.
In the same motion it is pointed out that with this not only rainwater could be stored for irrigation, it would also be almost completely avoiding the dangers that loom over crops and homes in flood areas when the Rambla falls.
Every year we have rain episodes that produce incidents to a greater or lesser extent, and the most affected areas in terms of crops, homes and infrastructure are located at the mouth of the Rambla de Lébor, in the strip included in The upper part of the Mediterranean Highway is indicated.
In 2015, and given the evidence that these works were never carried out, it was announced again from the National Government, that 20 million euros would be allocated to carry out the works of the Lébor Dams and two other similar infrastructures in the region.
The proposal concludes that we are in 2019 and that work does not exist, so we demand that the Central Government, immediately after the constitution of the Council of Ministers, adopt investment measures in the wadi to take advantage of the water from the avenues and eliminate the danger in the flood areas of the municipality on housing, businesses, farms and livestock, public infrastructure, as well as on the physical integrity of the people.
