The Ministry of Participation and Public Administration of the Autonomous Community intends to open the new facilities of the Alhama-Totana fire station before the end of this year 2019, which is located on the N-340 road at the limit between both municipal terms .

The actions to remodel the facilities had an investment of 323,684 euros, fully financed by the Autonomous Community;

and the building will also house the current workforce, which still uses rented ships in the industrial estate "El Saladar" in Totana-.

The improvement works of the fire station were tendered in 2017, when the construction of an annex building with a new control room, office, kitchen and stairs to access the upper floor, where the bedrooms are located, was contemplated;

and the facilities were also going to be equipped with new showers and gym area.

After the adjudication of the works, the former Fire Extinction Consortium detected deficiencies in the initial project, which led to the stoppage of the works.

After its revision, the laundry facilities for trucks were equipped and the maneuvering area was improved, fixing the slopes and conditioning the ground.

Once the works were finished, the project had to be reformed again to correct water leaks in the old warehouses;

so that the newly remodeled park is expected to open its doors, after three years, before the end of December.
