The Local Government Board has recently approved the collaboration agreement signed with the XXI Century Public Education Association for the implementation of the Shared Reader Success Program (EXILECOM) in the "Mateo García" Municipal Library of Totana.
The XXI Century Public Education Association is a non-profit organization that aims to defend, disseminate and work for a public school model that guarantees the right to quality education, which works scientifically for the educational success of all regardless of social class, gender, ethnicity or economic capacity of children, and that provides a public service to all citizens.
The XXI Century Public Education Association promotes this project to, from shared dialogic reading, contribute to the solution of reading comprehension problems of those children who, for various reasons - social origin, school delay, social disadvantage, school delay, Inequality of opportunities, poor families, emotional problems, etc-, do not have the opportunities in their family and social environment to acquire the essential reading skills to succeed in their studies and in their social and professional life.
The City of Totana is interested in implementing and developing the EXILECOM project, from the municipal library "Mateo García" and, where appropriate, in other municipal public spaces, and aimed at schoolchildren in the municipality of Totana, for which purpose it subscribes to this entity said agreement.
The "Mateo García" Municipal Library of Totana, by virtue of said agreement, is attached to the EXILECOM project and undertakes to provide the personal collaboration and volunteer training necessary for the development of said project in the EXILECOM node to be created in said library and in any other municipal public spaces likely to participate.
