The Psychoeducational Training course, promoted by the Department of Economic Development of the City of Totana and which has taught Intergenerational Solidarity at the Center for Local Development, has ended last Thursday, with the act of delivering diplomas to the students of the course which has been carried out by the mayor of the branch, Inmaculada Blázquez.
Solidaridad Intergeneracional is a statewide association of elderly and family, non-profit, born to provide social services to the elderly and family members who live in rural areas.
Among its objectives are to increase the well-being and quality of life of the elderly and their families through the provision of social services, with priority being support services for dependent elderly people and their families;
as well as favoring with the interventions the permanence of the elderly in their homes, in decent conditions and quality of life.
This training action has lasted for 30 hours where contents such as the characteristics of the elderly have been worked on;
the elimination of myths and false beliefs about aging;
normal and pathological changes, healthy and harmful habits, autonomy of the dependent person, among other matters.
In addition, the adaptation of the environment to dependents and the use of technical aids were discussed;
the problematic behaviors and behaviors of people in situations of dependency;
or psychostimulation, the importance of self-care, help and social resources.
