The Southeast Meteorological Association, established in 2008, opened its MeteoSe climate monitoring network yesterday, October 1, composed of more than 60 weather stations distributed throughout the provinces of Granada, Almería, Jaén, Murcia, Albacete and Alicante.
Among them is the Totana Civil Protection station.
As reported by AMETSE in a statement, this new tool for weather monitoring is constituted both by private stations of AMETSE members and partners and by other property of the association that are networked thanks to the collaboration agreement that AMETSE is about to sign with the Segura Hydrographic Confederation, with whom for several months it has been cooperating through the SAIH hydrological alert service.
Several of these stations also have the collaboration of AEMET through their territorial delegation in Murcia at the time of calibration of the sensors since they are also part of the secondary monitoring network of the state agency, which provides great reliability to the records
AMETSE also collaborates with other public entities such as municipalities or the climate laboratory of the University of Alicante that brings several of its stations to the network.
On its website you can access the complete list of weather stations attached to the project, offering both real-time and historical data of each of them, including records of daily rainfall, maximum temperature, minimum, wind or humidity.
On the page there is also a space reserved for a daily ranking with maximum and minimum values, as well as an interactive map that allows the user to access the historical data of each of the stations, including its location and summary template.
Also note as an important fact that the MeteoSE Network includes among its stations the one located in Pico de La Selva, in the municipality of Mula, at more than 1500 meters of altitude that in this way becomes the highest point in the region of Murcia in offering real-time weather data.
Also included among the stations is the one located in Sierra Nevada, at an altitude of more than 2,550 meters, a reference place for all fans and meteorology professionals.
Due to the great reception that the commissioning is having, the forecast is that the MeteoSE Network will continue to grow and it will not take long to become the reference tracking network to follow the weather in the entire peninsular southeast.
