Youth correspondents of the IES Juan de la Cierva de Totana have participated in the program as part of the 187 students who participated in the Youth Correspondents project this past 2018/2019 course in the Region of Murcia.
Correspondents Youth is a program made to decentralize information and thus facilitate young people access to it;
and during this past year it completed its eleventh edition and the Community has 73 correspondents distributed by 34 municipalities in the Region.
The youth correspondents are young students who are mainly responsible for informing the youth of their centers of the calls, resources and activities that may interest them;
At the same time they are in charge of managing an information panel and attending to a Youth Information Point.
The correspondent's role is to inform, in coordination with the Informajoven of each municipality and the General Directorate of Youth of the Region of Murcia, of all those topics that may interest young students.
These include those related to leisure and free time, youth accommodation, scholarships and grants, studies, work, addresses of interest, publications, etc.
According to the Department of Youth, it is a fundamental role that youth correspondents play as an informative element and link to detect, collect and transmit the demands and needs of young people from their educational centers.
This program is coordinated by the Directorate General Youth, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, together with the Informajoven of the municipalities of the Region and the IES that participate.
The Department of Youth appreciates the involvement of IES Juan de la Cierva and teaching staff that facilitate the work carried out by the correspondents.
The correspondents, throughout the course, participate in a first training meeting, at the beginning of the course, and end in a final meeting, which took place in “Your youth and tourist hostel†in San Pedro del Pinatar, where they participated near 200 young people
