A total of 404 associations make up the social fabric of Totana as recorded in the Municipal Registry of Associations and Entities managed by the Department of Citizen Participation, of which 325 are currently active and 107 are inactive.
During this last year, 14 new entities have been constituted, 3 of which are carnival clubs, 5 of a cultural nature, 3 in the field of immigration, 1 of a social nature, 1 of sports-recreation and 1 of a scientific-sanitary nature.
The Department of Citizen Participation, which is located in the "La Cárcel" Sociocultural Center, has among its main objectives the support for non-profit groups and associations in the municipality.
There are offered several services, among which the Information, Guidance and Advice Service to Associations- SIOA, through which it is oriented and informs on different topics of interest;
constitution of associations, registration procedures, elaboration of projects, etc.;
and the loan services of municipal social premises and material support for the development of non-profit activities.
