The City Council of Totana strongly condemns and shows its institutional revulsion in what has already been confirmed, in recent days, as two new cases of sexist violence in the towns of Escalante (Cantabria) and Villagonzalo Pedernales (Burgos).
In the first case, the Civil Guard located last Monday the lifeless body of a woman with several gunshot wounds at her home when she was going to tell her that her husband had died in a traffic accident in that town.
The Delegation of the Government for Gender Violence confirmed yesterday the murder as a case of sexist violence, which raises the victims to 36 so far this year, 1,011 since an official registry of fatalities of this crime began in 2003 .
The body was found when, apparently, the agents went to the house to inform the woman, 52 years old and with MJRR initials, of the death of her husband, JFAE, 56, whose vehicle had been built against a Tree at kilometer 0.8 of the CA-460.
The body of the husband also presented wounds of a white weapon, as has been proven when proceeding to the removal of the body after the accident, as reported by the Government Delegation in Cantabria, which also confirmed that there were no previous complaints.
Upon arriving at the domicile of the marriage, the agents found the woman's body, which presented several wounds of a white weapon and was next to a pool of blood.
It is suspected that the husband is the author of the stabbing.
The Court of First Instance and Instruction number 1 of Santoña, who investigates the event because he is the one on duty, has decreed the secret of the proceedings, judicial sources have indicated.
Today the investigation continues to try to clarify the circumstances of this fact and confirm whether it is sexist violence.
The couple had their domicile in Zaragoza, although they currently resided in the San Roque neighborhood of the Cantabrian town of Escalante, where they had bought a single-family house about two years ago.
They had two children and had been grandparents recently.
Second case in the last 24 hours
In the second case of sexist violence, a 55-year-old woman, RSM, has been murdered this Wednesday at her home in Villagonzalo Pedernales, in the algos of Burgos, by a firearm, apparently by her husband, RVS, 56, who has subsequently committed suicide with a shot.
In addition, a son of the marriage, of 29 years, is serious, wounded by firearm.
Apparently, there were no records or previous complaints of abuse.
The Consistory totanero emphasizes the need to work together to stop and end this social scourge so that the need to raise awareness from education to avoid behaviors that incite inequality between men and women.
Against gender violence, a common front of "Zero Tolerance" must be made;
because not only people who die murdered at the hands of their partners must be remembered, but also all those who suffer every day in their homes any type of physical or psychological violence.
