Festive, musical and cultural activities will have this year the vitola of citizen awareness to raise awareness of the need to enjoy them free of gender violence
Musicals, sports activities, shows, popular games, history and folklore make up the bulk of the program of events of the festivities of Santiago, organized by the Department of Celebrations and with the invaluable collaboration of numerous groups and professional associations and neighborhoods of the municipality.
The mayor, Juan José Cánovas, and the councilman of Festejos, Verónica Carricondo, presented the list of events that will be offered to all public from July 19 to 28.
In addition, was present the new Councilor for Equality and Women, Javier Baños, who gave an account of the support of his department to promote the public awareness campaign promoted by the Association of Hoteliers of the Totana Center (CHACT) for a party free of violence of gender and with the aim of preventing sexual aggression and harassment of women in these contexts.
For this, the Department will help the hoteliers who will organize festive, musical and cultural activities during the patron festivities in the Plaza de la Constitución, which allows users and customers to raise awareness about a society free of sexist violence.
The innkeepers have initiated, precisely, actions of sensitization of the organized events with which it is wanted to raise awareness and to prevent to the totanera citizenship on the sexual aggressions during the summer parties.
The 4,000 copies of the hand programs can be collected already in the Department of Celebrations, the Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel" and the Tourist Office, the latter from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 00 hours, respectively.
The program has been organized within the continuity policy of austerity with activities aimed at all audiences.
