We started the week with stable, sunny weather and temperatures a bit lower than this last weekend.
In Totana the maximum will move around 34ºC and the minimum around 20ºC until Friday.
But today seems to indicate that facing the weekend we will have a significant rise in temperatures because another mass of African air will affect us, but this time with west wind, so you can reach 40ºC in the valleys of the interior and pre-littoral of the Region, even some departures of models show that they could be overcome.
With this situation, the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia would register the highest temperatures in Spain.
There is still a lot of time left, so we will inform you later if this situation finally occurs.
Until then, much caution with heat, solar radiation and the danger of fires.
THE WAVE OF HEAT THAT HAS AFFECTED A LARGE PART OF SPAIN "PASA DE PUNTILLAS" FOR THE REGION OF MURCIA
After the heat wave episode in Spain, we can take stock of the situation.
Numerous records of June and an annual record have been registered in Navarra, La Rioja, Aragon, Catalonia, Castellón, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha and Comunidad de Madrid, but this heat wave has left "discrete" records in the Region of Murcia.
The highest temperature registered in our autonomous community in the AEMET network was 38.3ºC in Totana on Saturday 29. The own Civil Protection station registered 37.7ºC.
The three reference stations to determine if the Region of Murcia is affected by a heat wave or not (Murcia, Lorca and Yecla), have not reached the minimum threshold necessary.
A territory is considered to suffer a heat wave if that minimum value is reached or exceeded for at least three consecutive days;
on this occasion no day has been reached.
