It is the first time that the Ministry of Education rewards this category, social solidarity, and the award has fallen to the solidarity project "Zimbabwe, Social Coop." Carried out by students of 4th ESO of Reina Sofía.
In this Regional Entrepreneurship Competition of the Ministry of Education have participated throughout the school year more than 1,100 students from 30 centers, is an initiative included in the educational program Embarka organized by the Autonomous Community, together with the INFO and CEEIM, in the the entrepreneurial projects designed and carried out by the students of primary, secondary, baccalaureate and FP.
Last week, the students of the Reina Sofía School in Totana collected the prize in the cultural classroom of Bankia in Murcia.
These students are studying the subject of Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurship Initiative and participate in the Embarka Program with a solidary project, it has consisted of doing activities of social dynamization with children, the disabled and the elderly.
Every week the students have moved to the La Plaza Day Center, the La Purisima Residence Hall, the José Moya Occupational Center and the children's classrooms of the school to carry out cooking workshops, crafts, carnival, interviews, etc.
The acting advisor of Employment, Universities, Business and the Environment, Javier Celdrán, stressed that it is an initiative "based on experience, autonomy, decision-making and the assumption of risks that places students as protagonists of their projects, thus helping to develop skills and values ​​associated with entrepreneurship such as the sense of initiative, leadership and teamwork and fostering creativity and vocations "
The Embarka educational program, developed by the regional government, has as its main objective the promotion of entrepreneurship and vocations among schoolchildren while enhancing other basic competences of the academic curriculum such as linguistic communication or social and civic responsibility.
