The Municipal Corporation of the City of Totana will stage a symbolic act of support and solidarity with the D'Genes Association tomorrow, Thursday, February 28, minutes before the start of the regular plenary session corresponding to this month coinciding with the celebration of the World Day of Rare Diseases , which takes place precisely during this day.
The Totana corporate will pose, along with representatives of this entity, with a banner with the theme "Rare diseases: a comprehensive challenge, a global challenge" that the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases has designated this year to commemorate this date and raise awareness the society on the sociosanitary reality of the infrequent diseases.
In addition, the mayor and the spokespersons of the three municipal groups and the non-attached mayor will read an institutional manifesto to support research and improve the quality of life of patients.
The D'Genes Association is made up of people affected by an infrequent disease, family members and professionals of various fields with the purpose of creating a space of solidarity that also serves as an exchange and coexistence among the interested parties, as well as promoting the dissemination and awareness of the problem. of public health that these pathologies suppose.
Its main objective is to undertake actions that contribute to improving the quality of life and life expectancy of those affected and their family and social environment.
Totana City Council also wants to publicly congratulate the Association of Rare Diseases D'Genes coinciding with the fifth anniversary, today, of the opening of the Center Multidisciplinary "Celia Carrión Pérez de Tudela", with headquarters in the street San Cristóbal de Totana.
