The mayor, Andrés García, and the former councilor Josefina Gálvez will be the representatives of the Totana City Council in the new Local Committee of the Spanish Red Cross in this municipality.
The municipal Plenary will designate, in the ordinary session of February at the proposal of the Mayor's Office, both views the request presented by the president of the Local Committee of the Spanish Red Cross in Totana, Pedro Abellaneda Moya.
The Spanish Red Cross opened its remodeled headquarters in the municipality of Totana last November, a city where it had not been active since November 2011.
The humanitarian institution is already implementing its 'Emplea Redes' project that serves as a complement and reinforcement to the work of proximity.
This project promotes mutual support networks in the accompaniment and advice to employment to improve the employment of people in vulnerable situations, through socio-labor itineraries linked to the labor market with the digital age.
It also carries out the follow-up of the cases of reception of minors in extended family.
Specifically, in Totana there are 6 minors who are in this situation.
In the same way, the cases of the whole region in this area are managed from the new headquarters, including those corresponding to the municipality of Lorca.
