The IES Juan de la Cierva and Codorníu continues with its process of pedagogical improvement started a few months ago through the Erasmus + Project "Tell me in a different way", a project that many professors of the center joined at the end of the academic year 2017-18 and that aims to reinforce the communication skills of students and their expressive skills with other languages.
In this case, our Music teacher, Jesús Martínez Cánovas has recently made a mobility "Job Shadowing" for two weeks to Northampton (United Kingdom) where he has visited a Specialized Center in Music, with the aim of knowing firsthand how the teachers the musical skills and abilities with their students and how they develop and enhance the different activities that the center carries out (Choir, Orchestra, Band, Big Band, etc.).
Throughout these two weeks, Jesus was also able to participate in the preparation of the Musical "Les Miserables" along with the musicians, singers and other characters that appear in the work, all students of the center, who for several months were preparing outside the school schedule to publicly perform from February 12 to 15.
The result was extraordinary, since in addition to the human resources available in the center for the work and development of activities of a scenic nature (3 dance teachers, three of dramatic art and three of music) the material resources available to the Center are huge (varied instruments, costumes, sets, microphones and public address system, theater, etc.).
Throughout these two weeks, Jesús Martínez has also been able to attend different classes to observe the methodology and teaching strategies used by teachers (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, English and Spanish, among others) and as a result he has been able to appreciate some methodological differences, although many similarities also in the way of work of the teaching staff.
Finally, the results of their observation period will be exposed to their peers through the Training Seminar in Centers that takes place on the last Thursday of each month throughout the course and in it, the assistant lecturer will be able to know first hand the experience lived for Jesus during this time.
From the center we are very satisfied with the experience lived so far by the professors who have done some Erasmus + experience, since it has allowed us to know new methodologies and resources to use in our teaching practice.
