The Rehabilitation Service that is provided in Totana in the facilities of the Health Center "Totana Norte" is clearly insufficient for the needs of a population of 33,000 inhabitants and this situation generates delays and inconveniences for Public Health users and serious inconveniences for Professionals who provide their services in it.
The Rehabilitation Service is provided from Monday to Friday and in the morning hours to between 45 and 50 patients who are attended by 2 physiotherapists two days a week and for one, the remaining three days.
The waiting list is such that appointments are currently being made for February 2019.
This delay implies a reduction in the quality of the Service and excessive delay to people who, due to chronic illnesses or accidents, have to be treated in the best conditions for their recovery or treatment.
We consider the Rehabilitation Service as essential among those that are provided in the health facilities of Totana and the Murcia Health Service must adopt measures, expanded professionals and schedule that updates the considerable accumulated delay.
Therefore, Ganar Totana will present a motion to the plenary to request the Ministry of Health and the Murcian Health Service, the expansion of sufficient staff (Physiotherapists and auxiliary staff) and afternoon hours to meet the actual demand of the Rehabilitation Service in the "Totana Norte" Health Center.
