The Day Center for Intellectual Disability "José Moyá" and the Day Center for People with Mental Illness, both of the City of Totana, have recently organized "The Fall Festival" a special activity, with a theme appropriate for this time.
This autumn festival has been the culmination of a work carried out over several weeks by the professionals of both centers.
For several weeks this theme of autumn has been worked on, from different programs and workshops, cognitive stimulation, plastic arts and crafts, computer workshop, cooking workshop, basic training, theater, sports, etcetera.
This teamwork between professionals and users of the two day centers has made this special activity possible, where users and professionals have enjoyed a playful-educational day, where they have practiced both artistic, manipulative, cognitive skills, as well as emotional expression, social skills, coexistence and teamwork.
The day has been divided into several activities:
Inauguration of the Autumn Forest, made with dry branches and decorated with different techniques: paints, wool, plasticine, etc., adapting them to each user.
The Tale of the Tree of Peace.
Autumn Fruit Exhibition: persimmons, oranges, apples, chestnuts, nuts, etc.
Exposure and explanation of deciduous and evergreen trees.
Reading poetry of autumn.
Talent contest
Autumnal Gymkana
Users dressed in chestnuts, (with aprons made in the center), distribute gifts for the relatives of all users.
A special day that has fulfilled a very present objective within the programming of Day Centers for Disability, such as the diversification and enrichment of activities, workshops and programs that are carried out regularly.
