This past weekend the 36th edition of the Ascent to the Beaches of Mazarrón was held, the inaugural event of the Murcia Mountain Championship where finally 3 drivers of the Automobile Club Totana showed up to take part in it.
José Miguel del Vas, at the controls of his Peugeot 205 was the most outstanding driver of the team as he managed to win in class 9 bluntly during the four climbs of which the race consisted.
On the other hand Mario Díaz and his Opel Astra managed to get second place in class 7 and continued adding experience and miles at the wheel for the next dates of the championship.
The other driver of the club at the helm was David Canovas, who replaced his usual Renault 11 Turbo for a beautiful Seat 127 by not being able to finish on time the first one with which he was initially registered.
Despite being put for the first time at the wheel of the Seat 127, the totanero driver managed to occupy the third position in class 7.
The next appointment of the Murcia Mountain Championship will be the Ascent to the House of Christ in Moratalla next June 2 and 3.
