The Department of Women and equal opportunity has organized "Art Competition III for Equality, Totana 2010" in the categories of painting and sculpture to bring all the values and principles of equality, solidarity and non-gender-based violence the world of artistic expression.
This initiative, agreed by the Local Government and is framed in the Second Plan for Equal Opportunities between women and men, is done to prevent all forms of discrimination and to sensitize the public to a change in the pattern of relationship gender social devise non-violent coexistence, as explained by the mayor responsible for the area, Maria Josefa Sanchez Mendez.
The competition can register all persons over 18 residing in the Region of Murcia with a maximum of two previously unpublished works by author.
Free technique and subject matter will have to focus on equal opportunities between women and men in any sphere of life.
The work was presented in two forms: painting and sculpture.
In the first case, the maximum size not exceed 150x150 cm on each side.
In the second, the works must be carried out consistent material, permanent and durable (stone, wood, metal, etc.).
The works will be delivered on May 3 to November 2, 2010 in the Department of Women and Equal Opportunities on the street is Sister Josefa Perez (former courthouse) and may also be deposited in the Socio-Cultural Center "Jail."
In the competition rules state that the creations must carry on the back of the title, dimensions, technique, and a pseudonym.
On the other hand, must be submitted in a sealed envelope indicating the pseudonym used in the work overseas and within the same state the author's personal data.
The winner of this contest, both in the mode of painting and sculpture, will receive a prize of 500 euros in cash.
The jury will consist of the Councillor for Women's Rights and Equal Opportunities, the technique of the Department, a City Council representative, a representative of the City Council's Equal Opportunities Totana and a local artist.
