The Municipal Socialist Group believes that it is a good measure that the Government of Spain has decided to strengthen and support measures to address the increase in people experiencing serious social difficulties and vulnerabilities as a result of the economic crisis.
Socialists point out that the central government adopted on 26 February the Special Plan for the Promotion of inclusion and combating poverty in 2010 adding more new initiatives and budget.
Overall, the Government, headed by Rodriguez Zapatero will spend this year on social programs almost 800 million euros more than in 2009, of which 350 million will be specifically for social inclusion measures.
From the Socialist Municipal Group highlighted that the Plan will be implemented through 3 ways: through the State Fund for Employment and Local Sustainability on the municipalities, including the town of Totana, will receive 737 million this year euros for social programs.
Moreover, the socialist government has approved the creation of a special fund of 30 million euros to be delivered directly to NGOs to strengthen social inclusion policies.
Also approved the government will use any increase in revenue from the box of 0.7% of personal income tax has been 14 million euros more than last year on programs to fight social exclusion.
Totana Socialists believe that is good news for workers and people with serious difficulties, the Government has decided to establish these new measures this year to strengthen the Social Inclusion Plan.
