The course "Education for the media in a multicultural society", offered by the Universidad Internacional del Mar, which involved about 40 students, was opened this morning by the Councillor for Education, Trini Cayuela, and course director Francisco Javier Ballesta Pagan.
This is the second time that the municipality is taught a course at the University of the Sea and has been widely accepted by professionals and students of the University of Murcia and Cartagena, and a total of 38 people are participating on working days that end on Friday 18 September.
The mayor of Education has welcomed the course participants and invited them to meet the municipality building who have come to the working days.
Cayuela thanked the cooperation of the UMU and the support shown to carry out this very interesting initiative, involving large professional journalists and experts from around the country.
The days of 30 hours, which will be validated for 3 free credits, have started today with the celebration of the first conference which aims to assess the impact of mass media in multicultural society, analyze the role information and training of mass media.
For its part, the course director, Francisco Javier Ballesta, explained that during the conference was proposed methodological strategies to train citizens in the understanding of media content and establish collaborative proposals between Education and the Media.
