Caritas representatives of the churches of Santiago and the Convent of the "Three Marys" have received more than 250 kilos of food and over 150 liters of milk, oil and hygiene products, which have been obtained after the solidarity gathering food workers who have made the City of Totana.
In total we have collected 80 kilos of pasta (noodles, spaghetti, macaroni, etc), 75 kilos of pulses (chickpeas, lentils and beans), 60 liters of oil, 45 liters of milk, 37 kilos of rice, more than 200 cans canned fish (tuna, sardines, etc), 35 liters of hygiene products (gel, shampoo and cologne for infants), 30 kilos of sugar, 20 kilos of salt, 20 kilos of flour, 17 kilos of biscuits, 14 kilos of tomatoes Canned, 10 kilos of cocoa powder, canned fruit and other products.
The purpose of this local initiative has been to help Caritas Diocesan that can meet the high demand today is the unstable economic situation in the country.
Following the successful joint collection conducted by employees of the Consistory Local Caritas representatives have expressed their sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to this initiative, as many local needy families will benefit from these foods staples.
They have also taken the opportunity to appeal to the sensibilities of society totanera given the scarcity of food and basic needs that exist in a large number of families living in Totana.
For their part, workers in the City Council have thanked the cooperation of all persons who have participated in this initiative with the intention to repeat this charity campaign to collect food on several occasions, after his success.
