The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, and the councilman of Social Welfare, Juan Carrion, officially inaugurated the activities of the celebration program of the Municipal Center for the Elderly, which provides nearly a dozen activities that will develop throughout week.
The program began Monday night with the celebration of a mass campaign held at the Municipal Auditorium "Marcos Ortiz," which was sung by the Choir "Santa Cecilia".
In the course of the evening, the president of the Senior Center, Vicenta Legaz, and more responsible for it, they handed over a bouquet of flowers to the widow of Gines Marin, the former chairman of the Senior Center until she died few months ago.
Subsequently, the municipal authorities, together with the heads of the Senior Center, came to the coronation of Queen of the Festival 2009, which this year has been named Josefina Pallares and her bridesmaids, Catalina Marín, Alicia Zelaya.
The evening was livened up by the joint efforts of the folk group "Santiago", the Chorus "Santa Cecilia" and a band.
City officials encouraged people over Totana to continue "maintaining that spirit so young that makes the Civic Center Senior remains as alive."
