Totana City Council has begun construction of drainage in the Sanctuary of Santa that will solve the serious moisture problems experienced by this landmark building and are causing structural damage, as reported by the Councillor for Services and Comprehensive Maintenance City, Sergio López.
These works, which are being implemented by the company Urbaser, licensee of Water Services, for an amount of 56,947.41 euros, consist in the implementation of a drain by a ditch at the bottom lined with concrete and geotextile.
This trench, as reported by the mayor, will be filled with gravel to filter water from the ground to the bottom of the trench where it is evacuated through an existing ditch along the road.
With this draw, according to Sergio Lopez, "is meant to solve the serious moisture problems suffered by the buildings of the sanctuary in recent times which are causing structural damage."
Similarly, he recalled that just responds to the needs expressed by the government team members of the Foundation's Santa after the meetings.
