The council will encourage the Directorate General of People with Disabilities to start the process for the signing of an agreement (31/03/2009)

The full City Council held this morning unanimously agreed to urge the General Directorate of Persons with Disabilities of IMAS (Instituto Murciano Social Action), to begin the paperwork to sign an agreement that allows the financing and implementation up of two specific areas of "Multipurpose Center for Persons with Disabilities" that will serve mentally ill and mentally disabled people in the municipality.

With the launch of the "Multipurpose Center for Persons with Disabilities" through two areas designated for that purpose, provide services for the care needs through programs of psychosocial support, monitoring and community support, family support and community environment, time management, social skills, daily living activities, dining, etc, and addressed the needs associated with activities of daily living for people with greater dependence

Currently, psychosocial support services for people with mental health diagnosis, a municipal, serves thirty cases of people diagnosed with mental health, performing various actions and programs that are proving beneficial in improving the well-being, autonomy personal and daily living skills and adaptive capacities of many of the people served.

On the other hand, Carrion Tudela reported that through the Occupational Center, has identified the gradual emergence of new needs among adults with mental disabilities, which have been increasing cases of people with greater dependency in activities of daily living: hygiene, feeding, grooming, mobility, communication, socialization, etc.

This situation, as the mayor has said, requires that steps be initiated to study the implementation of a service connected to the occupational center for the attention of the users with a greater degree of dependence.

In this way it will give specific attention to both the specific population of Occupational Center, as persons with more limitations to perform daily living activities.
