A group of students from the Occupational Center "José Moya" are actively participating for the second consecutive year in the "Book Project", promoted by the Department of Environment.
The objective of this project is to contribute to growth and progress of member countries, through international cooperation, promote sustainable development through the reuse of materials and publicize Ecoparks Network of Murcia.
"Project Book" is an initiative that involves collecting books and materials, that will be reused by people in schools and social centers for Spanish-speaking countries, while furthering their education, enhance human and social values recycling and sharing of culture.
As explained from the Occupational Center, after the collection of books deposited in containers located in different municipalities, the students' work is sorting and packing for shipment to countries in Latin America through an NGO.
In addition, one day a week a group of students, accompanied by a professional in the center, moving in the van from the center to "Ecoparque" for this joint task.
These books will be reused by others in helping schools and community centers to share the culture, and to provide education to children and young people living in places where they have the material resources we have.
This project is coordinated in Totana by the Department of Environment and the project affects the reuse of a material such as books, which come alive when they move from the shelves to be used by other people wanting to learn.
