Establishment and implementation of the first Council Local Employment (22/01/2009)

The City Council of Totana, in its policy of promoting local employment, has become the first local Council for Economic Development and Jobs in the Region of Murcia.

The agency planned development projects to promote job creation with the implementation of specific initiatives taken by all representatives of business and social fabric to curb the impact of the crisis between citizens of the municipality.

The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo and Councilwoman Employment, Trini Cayuela, accompanied by more members of the Team, were charged late yesterday in the General Assembly to form Local Employment Council.

More than 30 people representing the business network, social and political development of the municipality, as responsible business groups, disability associations and professional associations, trade unions, members of political groups, municipal technicians, among others, participated actively in the constitution of the Council.

The General Assembly, which aims to raise a participatory approach that gains promote job creation in the county, will meet four times a year to review the actions conducted by the Standing Committee.

At the meeting yesterday, Councilwoman Employment and Development, Trini Cayuela, told the assembled, the statutes of the Council and how it will work in an organized manner and with a solid foundation.

Thus, in the next session will elect people who will form the Permanent Working Commission will meet once a month to agree on proposals and projects may be viable in the town of Totana.

The implementation of Social and Economic Council of Totana Employment is a very important business and social fabric of the municipality, as the body of work all the groups actively involved in the implementation of measures aimed at creating employment.

The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, explained that, once again, the town has become a landmark in the development of employment policies, as this agency has not begun in any town in the Murcia Region .

In this regard, Martínez Andreo said that in 2007 meetings were held with individual business groups to see first hand the needs and demands of them.

Therefore, as stated by the mayor, the best thing was the form the agency supervised by the city of Totana and coordinated with regional and state levels to fight together in what now matters most: reducing the impact of the crisis between the locals.

Facts

To see the functioning of the Standing Labour Committee and working groups of the same, in yesterday's session were two proposals.

One was directed by the SEF in Totana, Francisco Romero Garcia and the other by the computer technician Local Development Centre, Pedro Antonio Cánovas Garre.

The first provides a local anti-crisis plan to cushion the impact of the crisis in families affected by unemployment and economic problems.

In the second proposal put forward a model to build a theme park to promote tourism and culture of the municipality and also generate jobs directly and indirectly.

During the session of the Assembly, the members discussed the benefits and possibilities of implementing the two projects presented as alternatives to job creation in the municipality.
