The City Council and those affected by the future route of the AVE (03/01/2009)

The Mayor of Totana, José Martínez Andreo, and Council Member of Planning and Sustainable Development, María José Bedia, yesterday held a meeting with those affected by the future route of the AVE, which provides the Government of the Nation, as it passes through the town , and decided to create a platform that is requested to join all the social, political parties and associations in the municipality, jointly defending the interests of the town of Totana

The meeting was also attended by the Councillor for Highways and hamlets, Pagán Juan Sanchez, and the representative of UPyD in Totana, Miguel Baños, with representatives of the Association of Employers of the Construction of Low Guadalentín, AEMC, Carriers Association Under Guadalentín, the president of the Urban Conservation Bank Industrial Estate The Saladar, and entrepreneurs of the Polygon and neighbors affected.

During this meeting, city officials realized the "scant information" that is available today on the future of this infrastructure project, which as noted by the mayor, "provides neither provides the socioeconomic needs of Totana" and after the creation of the platform agreed to ask a series of requests.

Through this platform is requested to "be heard by policy makers of the infrastructure" of lacking information and calling for an urgent meeting with the delegate of the Government, as a first step of walking.

The Platform also calls for the implementation of the infrastructure of the AVE is not an impediment to the development of Logistics Park and Intermodal Station, is planning projects in the industrial "The Saladar."

Also during the meeting, agreed to join other existing platforms like Beniel created, to join forces to claim a solution together.
