The mayors of Totana and Aledo meet tomorrow with environmental prosecutor, Jose Luis Diaz Manzanera (23/11/2015)

The mayors of Totana and Aledo, Juan Jose Canovas and Juan José Andreo, are meeting tomorrow with the prosecution of Environment and Urban Development in the Region of Murcia, Jose Luis Diaz Manzanera, in order to transfer him discomfort and worry that there citizen in both municipalities under the project of tracing the line of high voltage.

This situation has led to the creation of a public platform with residents of the two municipalities that are affected by the route of this project, as well as holding two information meetings in the Socio-Cultural Center "Jail", in which has coordinated a campaign to collect signatures against this infrastructure and the processing of claims.

In fact, today is celebrated in the town of Aledo an informational meeting in order to account for the agreements of the two meetings scheduled in Totana and coordinated actions for the presentation of the relevant individual claims of those affected and adherence to the newly established public platform, which was precisely presented publicly today.

The Civic Platform was born last week with the main objective to make the necessary arrangements for the modification of the route from the hamlet Lorca Zarcilla Ramos bound for the substation located in the industrial park "The Saladar" in Totana.

It has also launched a campaign to collect signatures against the administrative authorization for construction and declaration of public utility project air power line 400 KV-Lorca Solar PV.

The victims want to apply to the area of ​​Industry and Energy of the Government Office of the layout modification and public utility project is not declared by the enormous damage caused not only directly affected by the expropriation, but also for the economic damage and irreparable environmental damage to the future of the people of Totana and Aledo.

In addition, request that the administrative authorization for construction and the declaration of public utility of the project is not awarded, paying particular attention to the serious deficiencies which carries the handling of the entire procedure from the beginning, failure to comply with the determinations of the impact statement environmental, to the shortcomings of the project and for conditions that have not been considered.

They also understand that based on the inadequate handling of the file, which has a subdivision by parties that has prevented those affected to intervene since the start of the proceedings, also it has to request that it carry out a reversal of administrative procedures record.

Similarly, retrotaerlo they want their origin, so that it is possible to assess the full impact of the complete performance with regard to the plant, substation and line from the beginning;

and always given to those affected.

The Mayor of Totana has already met with the government delegate in Murcia, Antonio Sanchez-Solis, on Monday the immediate cessation of the proposed route of this power line passing through Totana and Aledo, affecting more than 150 First township neighbors.

This power line affects large areas of environmental protection and tremendous value in the local archaeological heritage as the Cabezo Gordo;

and this issue will be discussed at the next regular plenary in November, following a proposal by the Socialist Municipal Group.

In addition, the City of Totana, through the departments of Tourism and Environment, has launched a campaign on social networks in order to raise awareness among users and the general public of the harm that entails in both areas implementation of this infrastructure.

The route of this line affects the vicinity of places of cultural, scenic and environmental interest as the site of La Bastida in Totana and the Strait of Arboleja in Aledo.
