Lilac a banner is placed on the balcony of the town hall to show the institutional rejection of the actions of domestic violence, remaining throughout November (09/11/2015)

Totana City Council of Totana has placed a purple banner on the balcony of the main facade of the town hall to show the institutional rejection to the actions of domestic violence and condemn them.

The mayor, Juan José Canovas, the first deputy mayor, Andres Garcia and the Councillor for Equality, Eulalia Moreno, today presided over the symbolic act of placing this banner, holding a central white tie, in which ceremony also members of the municipal corporation, public workers and neighbors in general in this town.

It has also held a minute of silence for the three victims of gender violence that have taken place this last weekend in Spain.

This action comes in response to the mandate of Municipal Totana Equality Council;

and simultaneously, the facade of the town hall of the square of the Constitution with purple lights will light throughout the month of November to mark the International Day Against Violence Against Women.

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution 54/134 on December 17, 1999, is celebrated annually on November 25.

Some attendees have worn shirts, scarves and pins commemorating the "State March against sexist violence" held last Saturday in Madrid, and was attended by the councilors Eulalia Moreno, Ana and Isabel Maria Molino Canovas together Mid hundred residents of Totana.
