Murcianas Federation Associations of People with Physical and Organic Disabilities (FAMDIF-COCEMFE) held the Fourth Conference on Education and Violence at the Center for Lifelong Learning "The Pond" of Totana, in collaboration with the University of Murcia (UMU) where volunteers have gathered, young people and university students with disabilities.
The conference, which has been organized annually for the last 22 years, aims to supplement their initial training of these young university students in the exercise of their professional task will deal with people with physical or organic disabilities, both theoretically and practical from the principles of solidarity, mutual respect and tolerance.
This project is organized according to the criteria of that information and training are an essential element for understanding the different aspects that contribute to the normalization of people with disabilities.
The event was attended by Mayor of Totana, Juan José Canovas;
Carmen Gil, president of FAMDIF;
Ana Millan, Director General of Educational Innovation and Attention to Diversity;
and Miguel Angel Perez, Vice Chancellor for Students, Quality and Equality at the University of Murcia.
The sessions during the weekend, from 6 to 8 November, and in the same 85 young people have participated with and without disabilities;
and in particular, students of the faculties of Social Work, Nursing, Psychology and Education at the University of Murcia.
They carry both a formative part as another of coexistence, participating university students, volunteers and people with physical and organic.
In addition, papers that will serve as a framework for students to meet later in various working groups to discuss and draw final conclusions have taken place.
