Totana joins the Network for Citizen Participation under a cooperation agreement between the two administrations (30/10/2015)

The Minister of Presidency, Maria Dolores Pagan and the mayor, Juan José Canovas, agreed today to promote citizen participation in the city "for all citizens who wish to participate in public affairs can do it in a simple, efficient and flexible manner," whose agreement was approved just yesterday in the Local Government Board.

Both leaders signed the "Commitment to Citizen Participation 'for which Totana becomes the sixth municipality to join the Regional Network of Municipalities for Citizen Participation in a ceremony held at the plenary hall.

This event was held to coincide with the first official visit of the Minister to Totana, in which event was also CEOs of Local Government, Diego Pardo, Security and Emergency Manuel Duran, and Citizen Participation, Manuel Pleguezuelo.

The visit also served to address other issues affecting the municipality and that fall within the Ministry of the Presidency;

so it was used to hold a working meeting which was also attended by the deputy mayor, Andrés García, and Council Carlos Enrique Ballester, Gonzalo Agustin Victor Martinez and rafts.

During the meeting other issues were discussed, according to the mayor, as the financing and implementation of eGovernment in the Consistory, commitment to adhere to public participation and transparency, Works and Services Plan (POS) Security Plan Citizens and Emergency grants and Fund for Local Cooperation, among others.

The adhesion of municipalities to the Regional Network of Municipalities for Citizen Participation that promotes the Presidential involves, among other things, the commitment to promote citizen participation processes to develop measures involving neighbors.

In return, the Community will provide support, advice and training in this matter to local authorities.

Maria Dolores Pagan also spoke of municipal cooperation, "for the Community wants to foster new relationships and collaboration frameworks that allow for more productive relationships between government, for the benefit and interest of the citizens."

So, the minister said his department is working on a model that allows municipalities to share services and infrastructure.

"In collaboration with the municipalities, we are conducting a study on areas and regions that allows to have an overview of the possibilities of developing this approach, with the collaboration of all municipalities," he said.

In this regard, he explained that the survey is being conducted of infrastructure and equipment of local authorities, which will provide a detailed map of the situation in all municipalities in the region and enable the Community to guide this shift.

He also announced that the National Civil Protection Commission homologated yesterday the plans of Civil Protection of the Region of Murcia to the seismic risk (Plan Sismimur) and Forest Fires (PlanInfomur), which have recently been updated by the Ministry of the Presidency and , at the earliest, they will be approved by the Governing Council.
