AELIP encouraged to support research in lipodistrofias through a campaign on social networks (17/03/2015)

The Association of Relatives and Affected lipodystrophy (AELIP) has launched a campaign on social networks to gather as many of supports to people with these diseases and claiming the need for research in this area, to mark the World Day lipodystrophy, which falls on March 31.

To do this, from AELIP are encouraged to anyone who wants to support this campaign to raise social networks (facebook, twitter or instagram) via the hashtag # L-researched, a photograph making the gesture of L with the right hand .

Moreover, precisely for this has created an event on Facebook to join him all these expressions of solidarity (https://www.facebook.com/events/1413751338927733/).

Currently, there are already many people who have joined, including many familiar faces, who wanted to show their solidarity with those affected with this simple and symbolic gesture.

The president of AELIP, Naca Perez de Tudela, said that research is the main weapon to give hope and a future for people with some kind of lipodystrophy and therefore from this association claimed to support research lines to study how improve the quality of life of those affected and their health.

In this sense he highlighted that these expressions of support aims to give a boost to research already undertaken since research team led by Dr. David Araújo in Santiago de Compostela.
