The commemoration of the X Meeting Solidario Friends and Patients with Alzheimer's Totana be held from 16 to 21 September, organized by the Association "La Carrasca of La Santa" with a broad program of awareness with which it aims to bring citizens to the reality of this disease.
The Councillor for Social Care, Josefa María Sánchez, president of the association, Lola Lopez Valenzuela and members of this organization, and Juana Sanchez Vaillo Rosa María Sainz, presented the program of activities that start next Tuesday, the 16th, with totanero lunch from 11:00 pm in the Day Care Service's disease (SEDA).
The events continue on the 17th, at 19:00 pm with the general meeting of members, at the cultural center "Jail";
while at 19:30 the conference "Meeting for psychological and emotional support for families of Alzheimer's patients", by psychologist Maria Angeles Garrigós be held in the same place.
In addition, the program will continue on Friday, the 19th, with the talk "Ways of living Alzheimer's disease", at the cultural center "Jail", with speakers Lola Lopez Valenzuela, Rosa Maria Sainz and occupational therapist Natalia Latorre.
Then, at 20:30 hours, will be entertained by the musical act group "Friends of the Habanera."
Finally, on Sunday, 21st celebration of World Alzheimer's Day, at 12:30 pm, will be the traditional Mass in the sanctuary of Holy sung by the group "Friends of the Habanera";
and will be followed by a tribute to all the relatives and patients who have been victims of this disease.
The day will end with a fellowship meal in the restaurant "Venta La Rata", at 14:00.
SEDA, which has a capacity of 15 users, is located in Queen Street, next to the Municipal Social Services Centre;
and has a psychologist and coordinator, physiotherapist, nurse and three care assistants and care for users.
The association works to improve the quality of life of patients and their families and to this end, develop workshops and programs that promote personal autonomy, self-esteem and integration in social life;
for what they have group therapy sessions, workshops cognitive stimulation, memory, occupational therapy, music therapy and an extensive program of excursions.

Currently, the Association "La Carrasca of La Santa" They have a total of 198 members in this county, of which a significant number are under 40, as explained;
