The Institute for the Promotion of the Region of Murcia has given old Technology Center for the Arts Council of Totana, a building that will be used to promote tourism in Totana and to provide new impetus to the activities related to crafts.
The Mayor of Totana, María Isabel Sánchez, explained that one of the maxims of government action is to give a strategic boost to tourism in the locality based on excellence and quality of the labor Reservoir Argárico La Bastida, crafts, Holy Shrine, the historic surroundings of the town, Espuña, gastronomy, etc..
The building will be used for activities related to crafts, as it will become the operational headquarters of the European Territorial Association of Cities of Ceramics, an organization that includes more than 100 cities in Europe working around the ceramic four country;
Italy, France, Romania and Spain.
Sánchez Ruiz explained that having the head office of the Association in Totana gives the town a very important role in Europe, as it is the first organization that groups that are transboundary and municipalities working together under one common denominator, ceramics.
The actions of this Group are intended to offer more competitive potters, promote culture and tourism around the ceramic.
The mayor stressed that, in addition, this building will become a preferred location for tourism promotion since the new road will open communication with the opening of the roundabout at the Kabuki allow the flow to the center of village diverted to this area.
The site also will be used to conduct exhibitions.
