City officials attended yesterday the opening ceremony of the new headquarters of the local board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), located across the street Legaz of this town, and the act of appointment and inauguration of the new members of the Board of Directors of this entity in Totana.
The mayor, Isabel Maria Sanchez, and representatives of local groups gathered at the new location that the AECC will have in Totana, which has been given in an altruistic way this organization for a family totanera anonymous, and was blessed by the pastor of the Three Hail Marys, Pedro Hernandez.
The event brought together the President of the Provincial Board of AECC, Dr. Agustin Navarrete, the outgoing president, Julia de la Peña, who has been more than 20 years at the helm of the association, and the starter, Pedro Marin Ayala.

Later, in the theater of the Centro Sociocultural "Jail" took place the act of taking possession and Pedro Marin Ayala appointment as the new president and the twenty members of its new board of directors.
Julia de la Peña reviewed the achievements and programs that have been developed in recent years by the association and recalled that this association has gone through several rooms before getting this new, as were the Capuchin Convent, health center, Old Courts and Citizenship.
The new board taking office is headed by Peter Marin and including Joaquina Garcia Cayuela (1st Vice President), Gonzalo Cano Cayuela (2nd Vice President), Antonio Muñoz López (secretary), Luis Zamora Canovas (Deputy Secretary) and Francisco Diez Clares (treasurer).

Currently, the association has over 125 members and an extensive program of information and awareness, as well as numerous volunteer activities in the municipality.
