Totana Local Police continues to work on the eradication of illegal transportation of passengers within the district, as since 2006, has handled the Penalties and Inspection Service, under the Directorate General of Transports of the Community of Murcia, more sanctioning 130.

These sanctions are processed by "make public passenger transport transportation authorization lacking" activity that violates the provisions of Article 141 of Law 16/1987, of 30 July, regulating land transport, and whose sanction amounts to a sum of 1,501 euros, the vehicle owner's responsibility.

The practice of this illegal activity mainly affects the regular Service Collective passenger transport, the taxi industry and the users themselves.

Users of these illegal services, although they are aware of this irregularity, are affected, since they are using a service that does not offer guarantees that if authorized, and apart from the failure rates, in case of accident, they would not be covered by any liability insurance.

Moreover, according to police sources, it was found that many of these vehicles are not the relevant compulsory motor insurance or without an MOT, offenses are also punished by the agents.

The control of this type of service is performed at bus stops and in crowded places of the main users: health center, supermarkets, offices, entertainment and so on.

To control this illegal activity is still essential support provided by the affected group, taxis and regular buses as they know the exact locations, times, and even vehicles that do this routinely fraudulent activity, data make easier the work of the agents in the prosecution of these offenses.

Watches are normally conducted by plainclothes and in unmarked vehicles, as it is very difficult to catch offenders "red-handed" in patrol vehicles and uniformed officers, by the many caveats to observe these "illegal carriers".
