Market solidarity in favor of the Comboni Missionary Sisters of Ethiopia (14/11/2012)

Once again, the group of collaborators Totana missionaries, is finalizing preparations to organize solidarity market 2012, in favor of the Comboni Missionaries.

This year, the Market will be held on Sunday November 18 and will be installed in front of the main facade of the Church of Santiago, in open continuously from 08 am to 20h in the afternoon.

The team of collaborators missionaries, volunteers, consisting of various ages-is for several months, working on the preparation of the Market, which this year celebrates its 20th anniversary.

The great task at this group of volunteers Totana, aims to collaborate and help the financial support of the work of the Comboni Missionaries in the most disadvantaged areas of the world ... in the areas in which large crowd of people are most neglected of solidarity from the world.

To do this, have been collecting many objects as books, records, trinkets, clothes, toys, etc, etc, that have been donated so selfless and altruistic, other local residents.

All these people, the organization's Market team, want to thank you for your support and contributions.

All this work is encouraged and motivated by the founder of this congregation missionary Daniel Comboni.

Who was St. Daniel Comboni?

St. Daniel Comboni, was born in a village in the province of Brescia (Italy) in 1831, in a family of humble peasants.

As his family could not costearle school (which at that time was not free), had to go to Verona, where he was welcomed at the Institute for the priest Nicola Mazza, had founded promising youth without resources.

In the years he spent in Verona, where the young Comboni was discovered where his priestly vocation and decided to devote his life to Africa, through its missionary Plan (1864) based on "Save Africa through Africa".

Collated Comboni missionary work in Africa with the missionary animation throughout Europe, where he obtained important spiritual and material aid.

Thanks to your unwavering trust in God, and his love for Africa, founded two Institutes for Missions in Africa: the Comboni Missionaries in 1867 and the Comboni Missionaries in 1872.

Comboni became the first Bishop of Central Africa, and one of the greatest missionaries of the Church's history.

He died in Africa in 1881, killed by exhausted by fatigue and fevers.

In 2003, he was canonized at the Vatican by Pope John Paul II.

For over 130 years Comboni died, but the present testimony of the thousands of men and women of the Comboni Institutes, we show that his work continues to live, as is the case with all great works and undertakings "born at the foot of the Cross. "

And just to assist and help support the colossal task undertaken by the Comboni Missionaries, the group of friends of Totana, organizes once again the solidarity market 2012.
