A score of patients from different parts of Spain have participated in the "Affected VIII Conference for Hemophilia with Inhibitors and Their Families" that have been held at the Center for Continuing Education Day and Hemophilia "The Pond" Totana, organized by the Murcia Regional Association of Hemophilia.
At the closing ceremony held yesterday in the plenary hall of the Center for "The Pond" was attended by the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, CEO of Citizen Services and Drug Addiction, Juan Manuel Ruiz, president of FAMDIF, Carmen Gil, Health councilor, Eulalia Sandoval, and Dr. Manuel Moreno.
In the conference participated children and young people or families affected by hemophilia with inhibitors, they have learned and matured their knowledge on the promotion of self-management and psychosocial issues have been addressed and medical aspects.
During these days, attendees had the opportunity to interact and exchange experiences between affected families and other attendees at the conference.
According to Dr. Manuel Moreno totanero, attendees, who were accompanied by their parents, have learned during these days in different technical seminars care and control of the disease (hemophilia) to improve their quality of life, and prevention of bleeding and arthropathies, and have known inhibitor therapy.
The mayor welcomed the invitation and the work of Dr. Moreno and his team of Regional Association of Hemophilia Murcia forwarded to the Administration for its "sensitivity and enthusiasm" to advance the treatment of patients with this disease and especially to sensitize the whole society.
In addition, secured the cooperation of the Consistory totanero in activities that promote the Centre, hereinafter the same way as has been done so far, with the aim of improving the quality of life of these people and their families.
