A total of eleven young students finish their course in the Classroom Occupational (26/06/2012)

A total of eleven young students have completed their studies in Occupational Hall, which was closed yesterday by the educational authorities and teachers in the municipality at a ceremony held in the Socio-Cultural Center "The Jail" after the delivery of qualifications and diplomas attesting to the young participants.

Once again, the City of Totana, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment, has developed the implementation of this program of remedial education through the Occupational Classroom.

The opening ceremony was attended, among others, the Councillor for Education, Maria Josefa Sanchez, and the director of IES "Juan de la Cierva", Juan Manuel Martinez, who has been assigned to the classroom during the next two school years.

Also they have gathered the Inspector Helen Ladron de Guevara and teachers who have taught classes for the course.

The Occupational Classroom will be held in the premises of the Socio-Cultural Center "The Jail" in hours 8:15 to 14:20 pm, Monday through Friday, except for physical education classes held in the premises of IES " Juan de la Cierva ".

Students participating in the program have been trained by a team of teachers and technicians employed by the Ministry of Education, and a physical education teacher at IES "Juan de la Cierva".

During the closure, the mayor spoke of the importance of this program because, he said, "has served as a classroom for students to link absentee or at risk of dropout can be reintegrated into the education system by providing educational guidelines, guidance and advice to educational alternatives. "

It has also advocated the maintenance of this program because the reality in the classroom demonstrates the need to solve the problems of truancy in schools Totana.

Also acknowledged and appreciated the work and effort that has developed over the past 12 years at City Hall and in the course of this program, municipal technical Gertrude Ruiz, whom he congratulated for their commitment and personal involvement and professional.

Similarly, thanked the Ministry of Education, especially at the Service of Diversity, to continue betting on these extraordinary compensatory measures helping to reduce early school leaving, and announced that the City will request the Department to "bet" for this educational resource for next year.

For its part, the director of IES Juan de la Cierva encouraged students not to miss the opportunity to improve their personal and professional benefit from the future, with a minimum useful preparation such as that offered this program, a job.

He thanked the teachers and parents help in this initiative and encouraged the participating students to make an effort in their motivation and future training, and urged them not to be content with what they have and strive to form more.

For its part, the inspector said that the main objective of the program was to equip students with a new methodology for their return to lifelong learning and knowledge prelaborares, especially to facilitate its continuity in Initial Vocational Training Program (IPPP .)
