The Department of Public Safety and Emergency Education program takes Vial (13/03/2012)

The Department of Public Safety and Emergency has taken up this year's Road Safety Education curriculum which will engage a total of 2,300 primary school students of all schools in Totana and continuing throughout the first quarter of 2012.

The Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, accompanied by the Councillor of the Department, Francisco Hernandez, the local police officer, Alfonso Canales, director of park and road safety education and program coordinator, Corporal Pedro Canovas, visited the to hear the first hand the evolution.

This training initiative, which is coordinated by the new Road Safety Education Cabinet comprising three members of the local police, began on January 10th and runs until March 30 in both theoretical and practical sessions in the education park existing road in the urbanization "El Parral".

Participating in the program are students first and second courses of 11 Primary schools in the municipality, including the center unit of the hamlet of Lebor, who is given a theoretical and practical session.

Meanwhile, students in third, fourth, fifth and sixth years of primary school participating in a total of two theoretical sessions in their respective centers and two practice sessions in the park or in the vicinity of the center concerned.

The mayor explained that this government team called for encouraging the driver education program taking advantage of this wonderful infrastructure and we have great professionals in the local police to educate primary school children in these civic values.

He also thanked the involvement and collaboration of teachers and the educational community in this program for children from getting into the knowledge of this area.

Sanchez said that the students learn real-life cases and the consequences of his actions as pedestrians and drivers to take their own responsibility and make decisions, helped park vehicles in the driver education as bicycles, mopeds and cars.

Public Safety Councilman congratulated the agents in the Office of Road Safety Education for their involvement and said that was referring Totana and regional and national level in this area through the work of previous city leaders and professionals from the local police.

The heads of the local police explained the details of the educational program, to be return after a year of internal reorganization of the workforce, and announced that after the Easter holidays will participate in the project Totana other social groups, as Occupational Center students, among others.
